Anointing of the Sick
The Sacrament of Anointing reflects the care that the Lord has for the bodily and spiritual well-being of the sick, as the Gospels attest. This sacrament has its origins in Christ and is mentioned in the Letter of James. Through the anointing of the sick and the prayers of the priests, the Church entrusts the ill to the suffering and glorified Lord. The Church encourages those who are sick to contribute to the good of the People of God by freely uniting themselves with the Passion and Death of Christ.
Request an Anointing
Anyone who is sick or preparing for medical treatment (i.e., surgery, chemotherapy) may request this sacrament. If you or a loved one would like to be anointed, please call the parish office at 208-342-3511 or email isabelb@boisecathedral.org. Priests are also available on an emergency basis.
