Cathedral Centennial Celebration

On behalf of Bishop Peter F. Christensen and the parish of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, we would like to invite you to your Cathedral’s Centennial Celebration of its 1921 dedication!

The celebration will be held June 5-6, 2021—Corpus Christi weekend—and will mark the 100th anniversaries of both the Cathedral’s dedication and the installation of our historic Tellers-Kent pipe organ. We hope you will join us for the special events we have planned:

Saturday, June 5th

6:30 pm—Reception and presentation on the history of the Cathedral by John O’Hagan, author of Stone Wondrously Hewn
 
7:00 pm—Organ and Choral Concert
 

Sunday, June 6

10:00 am—Mass with Bishop Peter F. Christensen 

11:00 am—Corpus Christi Procession – Eucharistic procession through downtown Boise, pausing in the heart of Boise for benediction and adoration, before returning to the Cathedral.

1-8:00 pm—Street Festival – Live music, food trucks, religious vendors, games, family activities and docent-led Cathedral tours.

Are you crafty or artistic? We have a terrific opportunity to share your talents! We are seeking vendors for the Centennial street festival! Please complete a Centennial Vendor Application or email julier@boisecathedral.org for more information.
Cake Decorating Competition

 All kids and adults are invited to participate! Limited to 24 entries. Bishop Peter and Fr. Mariusz will judge your entries, so bring your "A" game! Please click here to sign up!  

Please bring entries by 12:30; cakes will be on display until 2:00 pm, when winners will be announced. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Cakes will be used as prizes for the street fair cake walk.

All spots are filled, but come watch the fun starting at 1:30 pm!
